How does the 7-day free trial work?
Download PayPapi, open it, and you have full access for 7 days. No credit card required. On day 8 you're shown a gracious upgrade screen — enter a license to keep using it, or export your data and walk away. We never auto-charge you because you never gave us a card.
Is my data really safe?
Yes. All subscription data is stored in a single JSON file at ~/Library/Application Support/paypapi/data.json on your Mac. There's no cloud, no account, no server we could be breached on. The only outbound network call we make is to brandfetch.io to fetch service logos — and we only send the service name, nothing else.
Will it work on Windows or iPhone?
Not today. PayPapi is built natively for macOS using the platform's vibrancy, notification, and menu bar APIs. The whole point is that it feels like an OS-level feature on the Mac. A Windows or iOS version isn't on the roadmap.
What happens if I switch Macs?
Open Settings → Export to download your data as a JSON file. On the new Mac, install PayPapi, open Settings → Import, and pick that file. Your subscriptions, trial states, and history come right back. One license covers every personal Mac you own.
How exactly do trial reminders work?
When you mark a subscription as a trial and set its length, PayPapi schedules native macOS notifications to fire at your reminder day (default 3 days), 1 day before, and on the day the trial ends. Each tile gets a yellow TRIAL badge. On expiration the subscription auto-converts to paid — unless you cancel first, in one click.
What currencies are supported?
USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, CAD, AUD, CNY, INR, RON, PLN, CZK, HUF, SEK, NOK, DKK, BRL, MXN, KRW, TRY. Rates pull daily from the European Central Bank via Frankfurter. You can keep each subscription in its native currency and pick the display currency for your totals.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. 30 days, no questions asked. Email support@paypapi.co and we'll process it.
